Default Best Warrior Weapon (your opinion)

Although this topic may be a matter of sheer opinion I would like to hear anyones feedback on this as I am having trouble deciding myself. What Warrior weapon is the best to use (Hammer, Sword, Axe, Battlepick,) The hammer may do the most damage indiviually but the other weapons being that they are one handed allow for extra armor. Please place arguments here with reasons from damage combos to skill combo to pure look if you like.

I did a quick search under this topic and did not find quite what i was looking for so if this is a repeat post I apologize

There are a ton of threads on this (search for Sword versus Axe) and 100 debates will come up.

I'm an axe guy and will always be an axe guy. I love the sheer damage spikes that their elite skills dish out.

Sword guys love the conditions they inflict, the ripostes and final thrust.

Hammer is obviously the knockdown king, but has to deal with the lack of a shield.

It's really your preference. I think most people like to use sword (especially in PvE) because they look better and because of the unique nature of their skills.

Whatever suits your build is the best weapon.

I prefer sword and axe over hammer due to the shield/artifact, attack speed and just my preference and playing style. I will change between the two as desired or as my build needs it - ie, warrior/necromancer with bleed + virulence uses sword.

I like the look of the longsword, the long, slender, silver version.

Just about everyone likes that look. Just so you know, there are ways to induce bleeding withou a sword, so u can still get an axes' DPS with nice degen.

I think that you should not choose a hammer as the shield is important as a warrior, choose between the axe and the sword. As a tank, your primary goal is to take damage, secondary goal is deal damage,it is important to make all agrros on u so that the casters behind can do whatever tricks they want, and if u have a shield,u can withstand more damages.

In Pve, i agree 100%. In PvP, i dont agree at all. in PvP my number one job is damage, my opponents go for the monk, and leave me alone to woop some ass.

Sword if you are a pure tank....
Axe if you want to kill things good...
Hammer if you want to take out casters...

I prefer a morningstar or a flail - maybe chapter 2 will grant me my wish

or nunchucks, shield in one hand, chucks in the other. Maybe they'll have chaos chucks

Most uselessly debated topic EVARRRR.

MAny many many threads already discuss this. to the OP:: only 3 warrior weapons, Axe, Sword, and hammer...Battlepick is an axe.

Lol, ok enough trolling, ill show my general views::
Axe = best overall Dps or spiking
Sword = best overall condition spammer
Hammer = best overall warrior interruption weapon/skills
------------------------------------------------------
All still boils down to preference:: i enjoy axes the most.

my 2.

Would you care to enlighten me on what would be better than Sever Artery which is only 4 adrenaline to get them bleeding, for inflicting Virulence? I'm not seeing anything other than Dismember, which is 7 adrenaline for a deep wound. I like bleeding for the -11 health degen (yes I know capped at 10).

Zealous Chaos Axe of Fortitude
+15% dmg in stance
+30 hp

If I had that, I'd be perfectly fine with my warrior.

Zealous Foehammer of Fortitude
+15% dmg in Stance
+30 hp

Yep, I love this weapon too. It's in my inventory ^_^

Yes. Hamstring.

The difference between Axe and Sword DPS at 12 Mastery is very small. The difference between Axe and Sword DPS as 16 Mastery is about 2 in favor of Axes.

I personally prefer Swords, but Cyclone Axe rox so hard without being Elite and Axes get higher crits in PvP.

SIGH, i remember when i used a wand with my warrior for tanker smiter... but those days are gone . Any way, i prefer the sword, mainly because of the unique look, and as my war is entirely pve, because i have a pvp slot i dont need to ruin my pve characters . My build is prolly, just, stances for tanking, healing sig, and SoJ. Rest are random sword attacks that i feel like
